Sure, who wouldn't choose love over fear? All too often though, we are inadvertently allowing fear to choose for us due to some deeply hidden and buried traits in our lives. Sure, we can live 'happily ever-after' without ever digging into the deeper wounds, deeper fears, deeper traits, but Jesus said, "I am come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly". Therefore, we are admonished, encouraged, and gently directed to yearn for His deeper calling on our lives.
But, the trick is that we are not so keenly aware that these deep rooted fears are actually directing our lives. As we 'gloss over' troubles in our lives and consider them to be 'no big deal', they really fester, they really infect, and they really make us ill (emotionally and spiritually)... blocking a deeper fellowship with the Lord. Psalms helps us know how to remedy this with, Psalms 139:23-24; "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: (24) And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting".
It is almost as though fear chooses us (by our avoidance or negligence) and is rarely something we purpose to do. Calling on the Lord and choosing His love will cleanse your soul, your heart and mind, and your very being. In fact, 1 John 4:18 reads; "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love". The Lord already knows every deep and dark secret in your life (read Psalms 139:1-4), so it is really a matter of allowing the fear to devour, or His love to empower. Choose Love!
