Frazzle Beater

Updated: Jul 14, 2023

There are so many things I could be doing, so many things I need to do, and so many things I want to do... it's frazzling to try scheduling the time, coordinating efforts with others (we don't live in a vacuum, right!), and all too often some crisis or emergency trumps all those plans and panic is added to the frazzle. For today's devotional, I am so very proud/glad that I already have dedicated time to study this, to ponder the theme, and to pray over its delivery.

Actually, today's devotional is more about trusting the Lord deep down into the very depths if our being, and why allowing our being to be so busy, over-committed, and stretched too thin leaves little quality communion time for our Lord. He's there with you always, as we can see when Jesus said in Matthew 28:20, "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Also though don't miss out that He is 'within' us, too. That is where the quality fellowship occurs, not just at the "I'll run these errands with you" level. The richer life and exchange with the Lord occurs deep in our souls, and so much better and richer when we quiet our hearts, our minds, our bodies... and protect His time FOR Him. As Colossians 1:27 confirms, "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory", which is a reminder to us that He resides deep in our lives where His peace is (can be?) a continual experience; continually rich, continually full, continually leading us, therein. Hence, the 'frazzle' moments in our lives is lessened, if not beaten!

He is there, ready, and willing. Are you? One of the ways I ensure He gets quality time with me is to leave my music off for a little while, or eat lunch without also reading or watching TV, or even take 3-5 minutes before getting out of bed and focus on Him, for the Bible does say, "...think on these things". Once you slow your pace of living for a time (say, one afternoon), you should be clearer minded and keener to His leading, His Spirit, and His presence... and that restoration of your soul's energy will give you such peace!

Beat the frazzle, bypass the hassle With the Savior, there's divine favor.
